About

Born out of an interest in film / video game scores and the Epic and often motivational trailer soundtracks that usually preceed them, Gunpowderbob is the earliest alias of Brussels based composer Sasja Vanderveken. Out of the many musical endeavours Sasja has explored over the past decade, he is perhaps most known for providing the sample (originally released as "Everything Ends Here") to American rapper Future 's iconic track Stick Talk off of the 2015 2x platinum, chart-topping album DS2 (Deluxe).

Not long after its impressive release, the composition made headlines again when during the 2016 MTV VMAs sports legend Michael Phelps revealed Stick Talk helped propel him to victory at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. In an unlikely turn of events, the song was also indirectly inducted into the NFL hall of fame with a little help from pro footballer Stefon Diggs, further adding to the song's status as a modern day motivational sports anthem.

More recently, in 2019, Gunpowderbob's original vision of music for film and tv was realised when Stick Talk was included in Season II of the popular Netflix series The OA. With well over 10 million Youtube views in its own right, the original Everything Ends Here was also picked up for a charity campaign trailer by Children of Domestic Violence alongside motivational speaker Tony Robbins.
